CISCRP and INC Research are collaborating on a critically important initiative to solicit #ideas4patients to gather innovative new ways to improve clinical research literacy and to raise greater public awareness of clinical trials.

Throughout the summer, we’re asking stakeholders in the clinical research enterprise -- clinical research and healthcare professionals, ethics professionals, patients and their family members, patient advocates, technology and service providers -- to come up with their best and most creative ideas. On September 27-28th, these ideas will culminate in an Inspiring Hope Ideathon!! The Ideathon is an exciting and compelling approach to rapidly solving problems among a large group of people leveraging their passion to address a critical unmet need and the energy associated with a competition or contest. These types of events are used extensively in other industries and they generate very creative problem solving and novel solutions.

I wanted to personally invite colleagues in the clinical research enterprise to submit their ideas through August 8th.  Please share your ideas using the online submission portal. After August 8th, a panel will evaluate each idea submitted based on the following:

  • How 'innovative' is the idea? Is this idea creative and progressive?
  • What anticipated impact will this idea have?
  • How feasible is the idea? How can it be executed within 6 months/one year on a defined budget? Is this idea cost-effective?
  • How sustainable is the idea?  Does this idea have market potential and scalability?
  • How does this idea raise awareness for diverse or vulnerable populations in a range of disease and medical conditions?

A short list of finalists will be notified the week of August 15, 2016 and finalists will be invited to the Ideathon event held in Boston this Fall.
